Behavior Support Specialists (BSS) have expertise in the area of behavior. In affiliation with the Arkansas Department of Education Division of Learning Services, the BSS provides technical assistance and professional development to promote positive behavioral outcomes for students with disabilities.  

Services to schools include general technical assistance (resources, recommendations, sample forms, email/phone guidance), targeted technical assistance (professional development, coaching, customized services, classroom setup, and referrals), and intensive technical assistance (child specific supports, autism identification, and other behaviors).  A BSS is located at each Education Service Cooperative (ESC) in order to meet the needs of each district in the state of Arkansas.
